Give the Guy a Break
Leave it to the mainstream media to make a mountain out of a molehill. Article after article appearing all over Net on the supposedly offhanded remarks of one Ben Bernanke are putting forth all manner of over analysis, from how he's shot his credibility to whether the comments were off-the-record. The consensus seems to be that Bernanke said something he shouldn't have to someone he shouldn't have.
Reality check! He was at the annual Whitehouse Correspondents Dinner. HELLLLOOOOO!!!!! Do you think he might have been extremely cognizant and aware of who he'd be talking too? Was he even obligated to go to such a dinner? You think he'd say a single word in a room full of reporters that he didn't want to see in print Monday?
Reality check II! He didn't say anything he hadn't already said.
I feel Bernanke's frustration.
