Thanks for the link. Realize that from the savers perspective the mutual fund has become a widely accepted alternative to the old-fashioned savings account. To the saver they are basically one in the same. Only to the government and the perma-bear are they different. Our calculation methods have lost touch with reality. When you take into account the mutual fund a very different picture of our propensity to save emerges.

thanks, good article on the US deficits. It makes a lots a sense and we hope we Americans will learn balance before it is too late.

When being objective it is so obvious how far from reality the American society is living.

The best thing here is to be a baseball player or CEO and receive a salary of 50 million. Or sell your options on the NYSE for another 50 million. Then blame everything on the elderly for draining the system.

Give them cheap T-shirt from Asia, and make them pay for it on the other side with a trade deficit. Oh well!! lets hope the prices of stocks keep rising so the dream keeps working...

There are many good industries created here so it's not all bad.
